squash anyone?
so I really want to learn how to play this...
and I can use all the tips I can get. It is difficult around here to find someone who knows what this sport is, let alone how to play it. Even more difficult is finding a squash court in Connecticut that doesn't require a membership to a fancy country club. Mark my words though...I'll find a way. So far just reading the rules and watching it online isn't getting me anywhere. Please feel free to offer advice in my comment box and if you are in Connecticut and you know how to play, will you please put me out of my longing and teach me? Much appreciated!

My cute baby brother and his wife Melanie found out today that they are having a baby girl in August! I am so excited to be Aunt Holly (for the 12th time) and so amazed that my little brother is actually going to be a daddy. Congrats Steve and Mel, you are going to be sensational parents. Love You!

My friend Allie and I did a little hanging out in Times Square tonight.
We saw Mary Poppins on Broadway
Allie and only have one thing to say....Mary Poppins has nothing on us!

new discovery
I walked into a cute cafe on 42nd Street for a sandwich on a wednesday and discovered my new favorite beverage. It's an absolute must try. It's Strawberry Water and it's so brilliant: crisp, refreshing, slightly sweet, and delish!

monkey business
Today is the Chinese New Year and since I am visiting China in May and quite frankly love to celebrate any holiday I can, today was no exception. I looked up my Chinese fortune for the year. I am a monkey (born 1980). My fortune says this:
The Monkey who has worked hard will see many rewards in the year of the rat. The year may start off slow, but by the end of March the full richness of the rat year will be evident and continue through the year. The battle of earth and water can bring confusion. Tolerance helps you to avoid making enemies by judging friends or coworkers too harshly. Overall the rat is a good friend to the monkey and provides many chances to find good fortune in love and in your career. Take your time in picking the best of these. Avoid the temptation to spend unwisely. This is a year for saving, not spending. The right decisions will see the foundation of a comfortable nest egg building during the rest of the cycle. Enjoy your good fortune.
Not so bad hey! Some of the other signs had some unwanted obstacles to overcome in this year of the Rat. I'm not a huge believer in astroligy or fortunes in general, but if there is good news I will smile and take it for what it's worth.
Since I work with children, baking is welcome at my job hence today, in honor of CNY we decided to make homemade fortune cookies. So much Fun! We looked up fortunes online and stuffed our hot cookies with the messages. Of course we had to cover ours with chocolate and sprinkles, what else? I totally cheated and ate a whole one...sorry Christine! I'll burn it off, I promise.

the right stuff
"No stinkin' way!" is what I said to my friend Hayley last night when she told me The New Kids on the Block are making a come back and touring again. I am so going to thier concert and getting front row seats. I mean, this is my teenage hood people! Sixth grade would not have been sixth grade with out them. At first I developed a wicked crush on Jordan Knight but then Joe McIntyre grew on me and I cant go back. There's only one true boy band and this is it my friends. Enjoy the video, I watched it three times in a row this morning and memorized a couple dance moves. Love it!
